　　六、内容简介：

　　This presentation introduces the next generation digital television system, ATSC 3.0, under development in North America. The next generation TV will be Internet Protocol (IP) based, making TV part of the internet. It has robust reception for mobile services, making free over-the-air (OTA) television services available anytime, anywhere, at home, on the go. It can provide 3-dimentional immersive audio; Ultra-High-Definition video services with high frame rate (FHR), high dynamic range (HDR), wide colour gamut (WCG); virtual-reality (VR) and augmented-reality (AR); data services for IoT and connected car, as well as advanced emergency alert (AEA). The deployment of the system in North America will start in early 2018.

　　七、主讲人简介：

　　Dr. Yiyan Wu is a Principal Research Scientist with the Communications Research Centre in Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Wu’s research interests include broadband multimedia communications, digital broadcasting, 5G and communication systems engineering. He has been involved in the ATSC digital TV standard development, since early 1990s. Dr. Wu is a Fellow of the IEEE, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and adjunct professors of Carleton University in Ottawa and Western University in London, Ontario, Canada, a Board of  Director of the ATSC.  He is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting.
